Presidents Message…
“WHERE’S THE LOVE” ??????????????????
As I write this message, I think about all the two faced individuals we have in the House and the Senate. We have a Commander In Chief, elected by the people, standing up for our troops and trying to give them the support they need. However, the BS he must go through for this task is un-ending. I really wonder how that anti-Bush group would respond if their homes and offices were attacked by terrorist???? NUF SAID
“On every unauthoritative exercise of power by the legislature must the people rise in rebellion or their silence be construed into a surrender of that power to them? If so, how many rebellions should we have had already?” Thomas Jefferson
February is a good month to share love and compassion. I think about our troops in harms way and pray for them and their families. I have attended several funeral services of our troops who PAID ALL and I can’t help but share their loss.
My saving grace is the association that I share with my fellow Vietnam Vets and
our Organization. Thanks for all your support.

Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Cntr.
Chaplain Jack E. Brown is a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the 1st Marine Air Wing (1952 – 1953). He also served in the US Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam (1967 – 1968).
Forty years ago he was the Chaplain for the 307th Engineer Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division at Ft Bragg, N.C. It was there that he married a young Al Rowe to his bride Donna Curtis in the main post chapel.
As if that wasn’t enough, he also joined with The Rev. Charles Sineath, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, where they conducted a Reaffirmation Ceremony on the Rowes’ 25th Anniversary.

Vice Presidents’ Message…
“Pop Smoke”
I feel that it is important to acknowledge some chapter members who have volunteered to make our group better last year. First would be Lou Costello. He took on the news letter ( the whole ball of wax) - format, printing, mailing and now emailing. Lou is doing a great job and spends a lot of personal time doing so. Second would be John Dudley. He volunteered to help with our State Web Site www.gvva.com
and he also organized our official roster which was a major accomplishment all by itself. Last but not least is someone who is always there if you need help and that would be John Bevich. He took over the Chapter Store and reached a new level of success. Must be the “blue light specials” as he is selling a lot of winter jackets, shirts, hats, etc!
So when you see these guys, say thanks, then think of what you can do to help our chapter.
A note of interest, our Trusty Treasurer, Jack Moses, who toured South Vietnam in a C-123 became Airborne Qualified on January 31, 2007. He said that the first step was “very quick” as he fell through the ceiling of his new condo to the garage floor. He is doing well, and a bit more cautious as he looks for trip wires now.
Remember, if you have not paid your 2007 dues please do so or pay Jack Moses at our next meeting (Feb 15th).

P.S. Remember: “If you go to war, play a competitive sport, or work for a living, do so to WIN! Do not quit or give up or replay… winning is why America is a great country.
WHAT DO DEER THINK...
Ted Nugent, Rock star and avid bow hunter was being interviewed by a French journalist and the discussion came around to deer hunting.
The journalist asked, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, "Are you my friend?" or is it "Are you the one who killed my brother?'"
Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, "What am I going to eat next, who am I going to mate with next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French."
Well, the election campaign in the country is picking up speed... All the candidates are talking about health care now. Don’t they realize that it’s their campaign speeches that makes us sick? Bob Hope

Understanding Women
(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)
I know I'm not going to understand women.
I'll never understand how you can take
boiling hot wax pour it onto your upper thigh,
rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider. |
